Dear Parents,
As we approach the summer holidays, I think we are all looking forward to a well-earnt rest and then welcoming all the children back to school in September.
Below are ideas and activities you may find useful over the summer. They have been specifically written to be light touch and easily resourced. They are intended to be completed several times and can be easily adapted to different themes.
As always, our advice is to read, read, read- to your child, with your child, or your child reading independently. Whether picture books, story books, information text, recipes, comics, poems, newspapers, road signs…it’s all reading! Please also remember the library summer reading challenge is available which offers lots of advice to help support parents. Sign up at (or click the picture link to the left).
The ‘What’s On’ page of the website will remain live with links to websites, games and resources. Also below is a bumper pack of self-care activities produced by the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families.
Yours sincerely,
Sarah Vass
