Kingswood 2019

Updated: Oct 3, 2019

Absolutely fantastic is the only way to describe our penultimate day at Kingswood. The last two groups for the VIP experience of the 3G swing were buzzing after this activity and again, supported each other, set goals and pushed themselves to their limits - all whilst thoroughly enjoying every second. Those old clothes came in handy for nightline today: mud glorious mud with so many laughs. This evening we got together for a camp fire where we sung our hearts out and will be bringing some tunes back with us which I am sure we will be passing on to the other children at Great Totham (we hope you enjoy them this weekend).

All the children have made so many wonderful memories this week and so have the staff. They are really looking forward to telling you all about it when we return tomorrow.

We will be letting you know when we have departed and when we are close to arriving back at school tomorrow via parent mail, so please look out for these messages. We are hoping to arrive back at approximately 4pm.

What a day we have had today! The weather has once again been kind, with glorious sunshine although it was a little chilly. Activities today have been an incredible mixture to challenge the mind, body and soul. From the Leap of Faith to problem solving, orienteering and archery, the children have once again excelled. Having been transfixed by the 3G swing, we were even able to arrange a VIP session for two groups today, with the other two looking forward to it tomorrow. Watch this space!

What a welcome relief - scattered showers today but lots of sunshine and some amazing feats of bravery. We have been extremely impressed with the children's encouragement of one another and individual attempts at conquering fears.

We will try to put a few photos up but events have over run so we may not be able to put them all up until tomorrow. Movie night is well underway, as is the sweet consumption - we may be in for a sugar rush tonight!

We're here! We had a super journey down to Kent. The weather was kind so we were able to eat our lunch and get stuck in to our first activities, before the rain came down. The children were brave and resourceful and worked well together. Beds are made (some rather lumpy duvets) and a hearty dinner enjoyed. We're looking forward to our first full day tomorrow (especially the breakfast)! Fingers crossed the rain stops by the morning.

Final reminders: On Monday morning, children need to remember to come in outdoor clothing ready to commence activities on our arrival at Grovesnor Hall. Also, they will need a packed lunch, (no fizzy drinks please and disposable wrapping) and it would be advisable to have a coat readily available.

Enjoy the weekend.

Hopefully excitement is mounting; ours definitely is! Just a reminder about Monday departures. Please make your way to the check-in desk (in the school hall) with your luggage between 08:10 and 08:30. Your class teacher will sign you in and then if you have any medicines you will need to sign these in with Mrs Byford ( ensure any medicines are clearly labelled with the child's name and required dose).

Once you've said your goodbyes, the children will be taken to the departure lounge, prior to boarding. Please ensure that no prohibited items (sweets or technology) are taken as they will not pass security!

We will notify you once we have safely arrived in Kent via Parentmail.

Although the weather isn't looking too bad, it may be worth checking a local weather site for Ashford, Kent. It does appear to be colder and it looks like we should expect at least one wet weather day. Please pack accordingly!

See you bright and early on Monday morning.

Are you packed yet? We're really looking forward to hearing of all the fun you have at Kingswood this year! Teachers will update the blog during each evening.
